Sonoma County Library invites customers to self-register online for a library eCard anywhere they have Internet Access. These eCards expire after 120 days and can be used to immediately place items on hold, stream movies and music, download eBooks and eAudiobooks, as well as access digital content that Sonoma County Library has to offer. If eCard borrowers wish to checkout physical library resources, they need to convert their eCard to a General Library Card Account. eCard borrowers simply take their eCard number, photo ID, acceptable proof of address, and for minors, a parent signature (consent) to any branch to convert their eCard account into a General Account.
Second option: When you already have a Sonoma County Library card.
it is possible to have a friend, caretaker or family member do this for you. Have them bring the following into one of our branch libraries:
1. A letter of intent stating that you are allowing the holder (please give full name) of the letter to get a library card for you or renew.
- the letter must include your full name
-plus your signature
2. A xerox copy of your current photo ID that must include your current address.
3. If you plan to have this assigned person check out items for you please indicate this as well.
