Sonoma County Library does not charge overdue fines for items returned after the due date.

However, if a physical item is not returned within 42 days after the due date, then that item will be considered “lost,” and a replacement charge will be placed on the borrower’s account. If you bring the late item back, you will not be charged.

Returns are accepted via book drop daily at all locations, including after hours. Hotspots (SonomaFi) and ChromeKits must be returned directly to staff inside the building. Other oversized items may also be returned inside the building.

For more information, please see the Library’s Library Cards and Borrowing Policy and Schedule of Charges.
